How to Create a new Virtual Ward

  1. Go to https://lstmonitor.com/netccn/
  2. Follow the prompts for creating a virtual ward
  3. After confirming settings, submit your request
  4. The system will respond by creating a new virtual ward and assigning user ID and password credentials to you so that you may immediately begin working within the Virtual Ward

Get the Monitor App for Care Team Members (m.Care-Monitor)

  1. Using your tablet or phone, go to the associated “app store”
  2. Download “m.Care-Monitor” app (please make that if you get the m.Care-Monitor app, not the m.Care app as you will be signing on here as a caregiver, not a patient)
  3. Sign in to the app using the credentials you received in the “How to Create a new Virtual Ward”

Enroll a Patient – Managed Enrollment

  1. Sign in with your Virtual Ward Credentials
  2. Click on the ‘Patients’ button at the top
  3. Click on the ‘New’ button to the top right of the page
  4. Fill in demographics information about the patient
  5. Click Save
  6. The system will create the patient into the virtual ward you are signed in to and will assign credentials for use by the patient, presenting those credentials in a dialog box
  7. You can send those credentials from the dialog box to the patient

Enroll a Patient – Open Enrollment

  1. Navigate to https://patient-netccn.m.care
  2. Click Yes I’d like to Register button
  3. Fill out the information requested
  4. Confirm the information you entered
  5. Your credentials for signing on as a patient are presented, email and texted to you
  6. The patient will automatically be connected to a virtual ward in a round-robin, by state, selection process that places the patient in the care of the ward within their state that is working on the national medical emergency and has the lowest patient census)
    1. To ensure a patient is placed in a particular virtual ward, use the “Enroll a Patient – Managed Enrollment” process above.

Get the Patient Facing App (m.Care)

  1. On your phone or tablet, navigate to the app store for the platform
  2. Find the app named “m.Care” (ensure you pick the m.Care app from LifeScience Technologies, not the m.Care-Monitor app as m.Care-Monitor is for care team members, and here we are assuming you are going to act as a patient)
  3. Start the m.Care application
  4. Enter your credentials (either user ID and password, or click “redeem code” and enter your one time code)
  5. The system will prompt you to sign a consent form
    1. Tap on the form to sign
    1. Sign the form
    1. When done, press done
  6. System will respond with a welcome video
    1. Review the welcome video
    1. When done, tap done
  7. Patient is now signed on and at the main dashboard of the application

Add a Teammate to a Virtual Ward

  1. Navigate to https://www.lstmonitor.com
    1. (or download and open the “m.Care – Monitor” app from the iOS or Android store and
  2. Navigate to the “Teammates” application (on the top icon bar)
  3. Click the “New” button (to the top right)
  4. Enter information about the new teammate
  5. Click Save
  6. The system responds by providing you with the credentials to get to the new teammate so that they might sign on and work within the virtual ward

Send a message to a patient from a care team member

  1. Navigate to https://www.lstmonitor.com
  2. Sign on with your provided care team credentials
  3. Click the top “Messages” bar button
  4. Click on the “New” button
  5. Type your message
  6. Select the recipient patient(s) by clicking the Add More… button
  7. Select the patient(s) to receive the message
  8. Click “Close” when done selecting patients
  9. Click the “Send” button (looks like a paper airplane) to send the message

As a Patient, Request a Video Conference

  1. From your iDevice and while on the main dashboard, tap the Communications card
  2. From the Communications Menu, click “Request Appointment”
  3. Select the “Virtual Appointment” appointment type
  4. Type in the reason for the meeting request
  5. Click done/save
  6. At this point, a meeting request has been sent to your care team

Work a Patient Request for a Video Conference

  1. Sign on to https://lstmonitor.com or start the m.Care – Monitor app
  2. Tap on the “Appts” button on the top navigation bar
  3. Select the appointment you wish to start
  4. Tap the “Begin Working on this Appointment…” (far left button in the top right button bar… looks like a check list)
    1. This opens the “task notebook” so that you can record information about the conference call.
  5. Click on the “Video Conference” 
  6. Select “Join Patient Room” from the presented list
  7. Your video conference will begin. 
  8. When done, go back to the “task” and mark the task as Complete to end the appointment request
